Staking is the mechanism which allows you to unlock benefits from your $PORTAL. You send $PORTAL tokens to the Portal Staking contract in order to earn points, called XP. XP accumulate over time, up to a cap which is based on the amount of $PORTAL you have staked.

There is a 7 day lock period, which starts when you add $PORTAL to the staking contract. It applies to your entire staked $PORTAL balance. During this time, you'll earn XP as normal.

XP will be the key to accessing the hottest new projects through our Portal Launchpad. Your XP balance will determine your reward level; the higher your reward level, the better your access will be.

For every $PORTAL you stake, you earn 10 XP per day. This accrual happens daily for up to a maximum of 60 days based on your initial deposit amount. After reaching this maximum, you will need to stake additional funds to continue accruing XP.

The leaderboard is updated every 30 minutes.

You will reach your XP cap 60 days after your initial deposit. Once you reach this cap, you will need to stake more $PORTAL to continue earning XP.

If you withdraw a portion of your staked $PORTAL, your XP will reduce by the same percentage as your withdrawal. For example, if you withdraw 50% of your staked balance, your XP balance will also decrease by 50%.
